Welcome to Deaf Football Australia

Regardless of your age, or whether you are male or female - if you are deaf or hearing impaired and interested in playing football, please contact us and we will advise you on the steps to take.
Deaf Football Australia would like to offer their many thanks to our sponsors and affiliates that support Deaf Football Australia. We encourage membership, although you do not have to be a player as we accept non-members as well. The cost of membership is AUD$50 per year and it runs from the 1st January to 31st December.
Several deaf footballers have managed to reach the professional ranks over the last century, but the number is not large - a total of around a dozen have been noted. Some have reached the highest levels of the game, while others have had only limited opportunities to succeed at the top level.
Some accounts suggest that more appear to have been rejected because of their inability to hear, rather than because of their football abilities. Those deaf footballers achieving league status include instances of players born either profoundly deaf at an early age, or during their playing careers.
Balance is another important advantage for a hearing player on the field.
If you would like to learn more about Deaf Football Australia, please contact the Secretary of Deaf Football Australia - Brian Seymour. We look forward to hearing from you and hope we can promote Deaf Football Australia to the wider community.
Your feedback would be greatly appreciated, so please don’t hesitate to give constructive thoughts to improve the website and deaf football as a whole. Deaf Football Australia would like to offer their many thanks to our sponsors and affiliates that support Deaf Football Australia.
