Our History
Founded in 1978
Deaf Football Australia was formally founded on 24 March 1978 when representatives from South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales, and Queensland gathered to establish a national governing body for deaf football in Australia.
Foundation
Representatives from SA, VIC, NSW, and QLD established the national governing body for deaf football in Australia.
DIFA Affiliation
DFA affiliated with the Deaflympics International Football Association, connecting Australian deaf football to the global community.
First International Competition
DFA sent its first national team to compete in international deaf football competition.
National Programs
DFA runs four national programs — Men's Football (Deaf Socceroos), Women's Football (Deaf Koalas), Men's Futsal, and Women's Futsal — competing on the world stage.
